William III, Treaty of Ryswick, State of Britain Medal
The Treaty of Ryswick settled the War Of the League of Augsburg. The treaty established peace between France who fought against England, Spain, the Holy Roman Empire and the United Provinces. The treaty was of great significance to William’s reign as one of the agreements involved Louis XIV of France recognising William III as king of England and to give no further assistance to James II in his pursuit to reclaim the English throne.
