This is the second obverse design of the 1841 mohur that was introduced in 1850/51 with a fixed date of 1841, which is when the first issues were struck. The new larger portrait splitting the words VICTORIA QUEEN easily distinguishes this second variety. The second design was only produced at the Calcutta mint; the first type had three mints in operation at Calcutta, Bombay and Madras.
