Pattern penny, Profile left type, London mint, Wulfgar moneyer, bust left, crowned and diademed, in front, a sceptre, rev. cross fleury with annulet at centre, 2.3g (N.839, S.1250, Williams BNJ 2001, p.64, no.14 (this piece), EMC 1991.0304 (this piece) P.Stott ‘Saxon and Norman Coins from London II’ p.300)

A pattern penny struck on a double weighted flan, details are particularly well crafted and in high relief, produced for presentation or display purposes, this example was found in a Norman copper brooch mount. Slightly porous, highly important and unique.
